The best time to visit Tanzania for a safari largely depends on the experience you're looking for. Dry Season (June to October): This is the most popular time for safaris as the wildlife tends to gather around water sources, making it easier to spot animals. It’s also the best time for the Great Migration in the Serengeti. Wet Season (November to May): This season sees fewer tourists, and the landscapes are lush and green. While some roads may be harder to navigate, this is an excellent time for birdwatching and witnessing the calving season in the Serengeti (around February).
Yes, safaris in Tanzania can be a great adventure for families. Many parks, including Serengeti and Ngorongoro, offer family-friendly accommodations and tailored experiences that make the safari fun and educational for children. However, certain parks may have age restrictions for younger children, so it’s important to check with the tour operator beforehand to ensure the itinerary is suitable for your family’s needs.
The ideal length of a safari in Tanzania depends on the destinations you wish to visit. Short Safaris (3-5 days): Perfect for exploring key parks like Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro Crater. Extended Safaris (7+ days): For a more immersive experience, allowing you to explore multiple parks and wildlife areas across the Northern or Southern circuits, including remote areas like Ruinsori or Nyerere National Park (Selous Game Reserve). For most first-time visitors, a 5-7 day safari is typically ideal to see the highlights.

Depending on the season, you might witness the Great Migration in the Serengeti or the calving season in the southern Serengeti.
